Aida Awad
Aida Awad has been a Google Certified Trainer since the very early days of the program. She is also a Google Geo Teacher. She has presented at conferences and workshops, and provided technology integration training across the country including: T&L NSBA, ICE, IETC, ESRI UC, RSAC, CyTSE, GLOBE, and GSA. She says that becoming an AppsCT and continuing her experience as a lead learner has been nothing short of invigorating! She likens it to the rush educators get when a student suddenly "gets it." She finds working with adult learners who are keenly committed to improving instruction through technology to be a true pleasure!

Aida has also been serving as the Science Department Chair at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois since 2003. Prior to serving as Department Chair, she taught Geology, Earth Systems Science and Chemistry for nine years.

Aida serves on several professional organization boards. She is past Chair of the Geological Society of America, GSA, Education Committee. She is 2nd vice president of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers, NAGT.She earned a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Political Science at University of Illinois at Chicago in 1981, and an M.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences at University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993.
